It's not possible to assign a new controlling area for an old company code if the company code has transactional data.
If the company code does not have any transactional data, then you can delete the assignment in previous controlling area and assign the company code to new controlling area.
You have to make sure that Fiscal Year Variant and Chart of accounts are same.

We have a thought of different GL accounts for Fee and Expense. The only concern is these two expenses are related to Legal charges. They want to see the cumulative balance of Legal charges and individual tracking of Fee and Legal Expenses head under KSB1. Is there any substitution works out here in OKC9 for the same?

It completely depends on user requirements thus it is quite important to know which KPI (key figures) they need for reporting.
This information will be the base to decide which extractors you need and if you can achieve desired reporting using standard extractors or have to develop custom ones.
When we developed our system the users have basic requirement to see Logistics & Financial data in BW so we started by using standard LO extractors & FI extractors and later upon requirement extended to COPA, Project systems etc.
As you already know R/3 is a transactional system thus it has dependencies to various modules but BW is a reporting system thus in general it doesn't have dependencies like you have it in R/3.

Also after a restart in the very next phase it says the same thing stating DB environment variable is the issue and I would prefer to wait for sometime as its getting critical for each thing.

So you first started with Logistics requirements, designed everything in BW, created the reports/dashboards etc. and went live in this module ? then you started finance blueprint ,realization , etc. and went live and then the others.... ?
You did not complete the blueprint phase for all modules, and then start realization for all modules and so on?

Please consider using condition based filtering in Additional Selection Attributes.
You can merge 2 conditions with your specifications using AND operator.
Use the BO /SCMTMS/TO and create a condition of type /SCMTMS/TOR_GENERIC
to retrieve the required values.

After our initial preparation meeting we already had the first impression what kind of data users were looking for (Logistic & Finance data).
So we created two teams who then discussed the details further with relevant Sales & Finance departments to understand the reporting requirements.
After completion of this phase both teams worked in parallel to develop and realize reporting solution in BI for the users.
Understanding/Clarification is more important than points so please do post if things are still not clear :-)

I am confronted with a curious thing regarding the output of the balance confirmation (F.17).
So when I execute the program for a specific customer of country.. let's say Spain, then on the first page of the output the title of the customer is shown correctly in the local language, so it's "empresa". But on the second page and on the third page (the output has a toatal of 3 pages) the title is shown in english language (standard SAP logon language), so "company" (instead of "empresa").
Does anybody have an idea where this problem comes from?

My client has bought the license of SAP PI or PO. Is there any way to check the version of PI which they have bought?
I logged in using the client's S-User and tried to check under -
Software Downloads -> Installations and Upgrades -> My company's application components -> My Company's Software -> SAP Netweaver 7.1X -> SAP Netweaver PI7.1
By navigating through the above mentioned path, I feel that my SAP PI version is PI7.1.
But if I try to navigate to the below mentioned path, I see that, all versions of PI Basis are available. And hence I am not understanding what is actually the version of PI for which my client has the license.
My Company's application components -> Complimentary software -> PI_ BASIS

we are facing an issue with 2nd level approval .
Once the first level leave approval is done if employee is changing the leave dates , it is directly going to 2nd level approver , but it should go again to first level approver .
How to send this to first level approver again (Once dates are changed ) or how to disable the edit activity in webdynpro once first level approver is completed .
